About Midnight

Lead with Empathy.

We set a high standard.

Midnight is the antithesis of tattoo shops. It's bright and airy atmosphere, cozy modern aesthetic, and warm and approachable artists all contribute to what is hoped to be, the future of the tattoo experience.

Get a piece you will love forever.

At Midnight, we focus on client comfort, consent, and communication. We ask and answer questions throughout the process, allow clients space to communicate design preferences, ultimately giving clients control over what will be permanently tattooed on their body. Our artists have no problem discussing design possibilities, moving stencils several times, or going back to the drawing board and rescheduling. We think that you should never feel rushed or pressured into getting a tattoo.

The artists at Midnight Tattoo have all been developing their skills as artists for the better part of their lives. They each exhibit their own specialties and specific styles, which embellishes a satisfying level of consistency in their portfolios. Midnight’s artists take pride in only tattooing what they are able to flawlessly execute, which is why we are an Appointment-Only shop.

Comfort is key.

Comfort is mathematically proven to improve your tattoo experience. At Midnight, you will smell incense or candles when you walk in. Soft music is playing in the background, the sun is refracting through the cathedral-sized windows, and you are immediately welcomed by one of our friendly artists. Each tattoo station is equipped with a fuzzy blanket for advanced coziness, a bendy phone holder stand for you to scroll Tik Tok or watch movies during your session, and a snack bucket if you need a pick-me-up.

We tattoo with love. We guide you through the process, asking questions along the way to make sure you are 100% happy with the piece you are getting permanently tattooed! This art is sacred to us, and the honor and trust that comes along with the process is not taken for granted at Midnight. We hope to give you a comfortable and memorable experience that you can keep forever with your new body art.

A little about Parker (she/her),

Parker has been tattooing professionally since 2019. She has always created art through her clothing brand for a few decades, and was fortunate enough to find a path into the career of her dreams. She founded Midnight in 2019, and spends most of her days scheming up ways to add interior design installations and projects to feast your eyes upon, in addition to constantly working on making the shop feel unintimidating and inviting.

She started life on earth in the formidable lands of South Florida. She left as soon as possible. Went on to do some schooling in Boston, learned some valuable life lessons for 3 years in Los Angeles, and has since been residing in Portland, OR, with her lovely wife Maria, and 3 kids (dogs).

Prior to tattooing, Parker sustained herself by working in the trenches of the Food Service industry for 15+ years. Parker loves to chat and connect with clients, but she does her best work when she is concentrating during the tattoo. She has been described to have a “light hand” while tattooing. She believes in de-stigmatizing the mystery behind tattooing, and loves to walk clients through their sessions by explaining every step of the way. She likes to focus on creating a “no-pressure” environment for clients to make decisions about their dream tattoo. Her specialties include Fineline Floral, Black and Grey realism, and freehanded pieces that flow with the body.

A little about Maria (she/her),

Maria started learning how to tattoo in 2019. How? Well, she fell in love with an artist and as artists sometimes (usually) do, they dream of tattooing being one of their mediums. Except this artist soulmate of hers was (and is) relentless about practicing and teaching herself how to tattoo, and do it exceptionally. Maria was lucky enough to have the opportunity scream in her face, integrity to see it through and the humility to always be growing.

Before tattooing, she was a chef in Los Angeles - a skill she is grateful she has, but does not recommend pursuing a professionally..unless you’re into high levels of toxic masculinity, abuse, working 70 hours a week with a body that feels 67 at 23, for a minimum wage salary because its who you know and work for that matters so build some character and a second job. Maria made dinner for Beyoncé and shook Tony Hawk’s hand but she wasn’t allowed to use the restroom while the restaurant was open and ended up having to do what all the boys did and pee in the dumpster in the parking lot on a regular basis because dumpster > kidney stones (:

She is an immigrant, born and raised in Bucharest, Romania. After being transplanted to Vancouver, Canada and again to Southern California, Maria has assimilated almost entirely but if you’re lucky you’ll catch her saying sorry like a Canadian. Being raised by crazy Europeans has resulted in an over the top love for food, and quality time, and chocolate.

She specializes in fine line tattoos that compliment the body, and small cute detailed fine line tattoos. She believes there is a lot of change that needs to take place within the industry, and works tirelessly everyday to make sure clients who come to Midnight are shown what a tattoo experience should be like. A tattoo appointment should be comfortable, not terrifying. Clients should feel like they are the owner of their body, not an artist’s canvas. Maria wants to scream from the rooftops that all tattoos are for all body shapes, sizes and skin colors (if owner of said body wants them).

Outside of tattooing, you will find Maria still doing more work, but ideally snuggling her pitbull real hard simultaneously. Maria wants to know why she would leave her house if the other option is to not leave her house. She emphasized ‘there’s dogs there’
